The construction committee has responded to several rounds of questions from the city regarding the installation of the water fountain/hose bib. We may be close! A contractor has been chosen to perform the installation.
Initially the City wanted us to connect to the water supply to the east at the Softball entrance. A quote to perform the trenching (340 feet) and run a water line was $32,000. We argued that this did not make sense since there was a meter box ten feet away with water service.
In addition, during construction of the sidewalk we ran a PEX line under the sidewalk from the meter box to the rear of the wall in preparation for the fountain installation.
The City sent a tech out and confirmed the meter box (added it to their GIS system) and we were then required to have a hydrant test performed to confirm water pressure, so a new set of discussions started.
